About Eileen Power

Licensed Professional Therapist in New York, NY

My name is Eileen Power; I became a therapist because I like to help people and I like to talk! I enjoy listening to people's stories and helping them work through various obstacles. A large part of what I do is connecting with my clients, giving them an unbiased person to speak with, and providing alternative perspectives. In working with you, I will get to know you and your goals, and together we will find out what's getting in the way of achieving these goals. Therapy consists of digging deep and opening up about some personal things. It can be difficult at times, but valuable in learning more about yourself, as well as learning to be vulnerable.

I like to problem solve and will work collaboratively with you, as well as with other providers. I use solution-focused and cognitive behavioral therapy tools, among other therapeutic interventions. In working together, we will explore a bit of your past. However, I primarily like to focus on the present and your goals.

A little about me: I'm originally from California; I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from San Francisco State University; I earned my Masters's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Hunter College in NYC. I have been working in the mental health field for 10 years and thoroughly enjoy helping people feel better and achieve their goals. On a more personal note: I have a dog I adore, and I occasionally like to run marathons!
